About Me
Judy Batista is a bilingual speech-language pathologist with 15+ years of experience and the founder of Laughing Monitos, a play-based pediatric therapy practice in Chapel Hill, NC. Fluent in English and Spanish, she specializes in early intervention for children ages 0-4, particularly supporting multicultural families through speech, language, and feeding disorders. After earning her Master's from Florida State University and beginning her career at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Judy relocated to North Carolina in 2019 to expand access to culturally-responsive therapy services. Through Laughing Monitos, she combines evidence-based interventions with music, art, and play to help children reach critical developmental milestones while empowering parents with practical tools. As a first-generation American and active community leader, Judy serves on the boards of echo Entrepreneurs, WEBB Squared, and the Chatham County Partnership for Children. Her innovative approach to pediatric speech therapy has made her a trusted resource for families throughout the Triangle area.
